Portion snus is pretty new to the Swedish snus world being introduced in the early 1970’s. Portion snus comes in 3 different sizes; mini, large and maxi and either dry, white and original types. Each portion has a pre-measured amount of snus wrapped in a soft, teabag type of material. To use it, you simply take a portion and place it in the upper lip. Portion snus also has it’s advantages and disadvantages just like loose snus does. The main advantage portion snus has is discreetness. Since the snus is contained within the material, there’s no need to worry about loose bits of snus. Another advantage is ease of use. Putting a portion in is just as easy as taking it out. The main disadvantage is comfort. Some portion material can be a bit irritating to the gums but like we said, it’s only some brands and it’s not a common thing. Another disadvantage is that portion snus tends to be a bit salty in taste. This is due to the higher amount of it is needed to help bring the Nicotine out.
